I love me some Oprah! Honestly, the only shows of hers that I don’t enjoy are the ones featuring big stars. Boring! I like the shows where you get your eyes and soul ripped open about some heart-wrenching, very important issue and realize, “Holy crap! If I did this one thing, I could save a life!” Or you hear about some insanely awesome triumph pulled off by someone much, much, much worse off than yourself and you bawl on the couch and go, “Oh my goodness, I need to get off my ass and embrace life for crying out loud!” I like to be moved and inspired. Oprah moves and inspires me. I really want to figure out a way to get on her show before it ends after next season. It’s a goal of sorts. So you might expect the next paragraph to be selfish. Surprise! It’s not!

I discovered Lilou a few years ago during a bout of depression. Longing for inspiration, I actually visited YouTube and entered “Oprah” as a search term. That search led me directly to Lilou’s popular YouTube channel. It was no coincidence. I was immediately engaged and energized, and began taking part in Lilou’s “100 Day Challenge.” Challenge participants are encouraged to live out the laws of attraction for 100 days and share their ensuing discoveries on YouTube. This online community is just one of many efforts that Lilou has undertaken in order to bring about positive change in the world—the very change that Oprah and many of her expert guests, such as Eckhart Tolle, are helping to spark.

Watch Lilou’s OWN network audition video. The first thing you notice is her energy—it’s boundless and magnetic. And then perhaps, you’ll note the charming touch of a French accent. But her spirit and dreams are all-American. Lilou’s an American-born internet phenomenon, and after living in Europe for two years, she’s uprooted her life and relocated to her previous home in Chicago for the purpose of pursuing her ultimate American dream. Swapping continents just to apply for a dream job may sound dramatic, but this type of dedication is absolutely typical for Lilou.

Lilou explains the crystal clear vision that drives her: “My big dream is to host an international spiritual reality talk show on the Oprah Winfrey Network and empower millions of people each day.” She continues, “I want us to explore our potential and higher selves while unlocking spiritual secrets, having fun, and growing together. I know we can bring a huge wave of change on the planet.”

Lilou’s very personal, open journey has been played out on YouTube for seekers of inspiration to enjoy. Incredibly, Lilou’s growing online legacy includes 1000 video blogs, honestly disclosing her personal challenges and triumphs, and 500 interviews with top spiritual teachers including Debbie Ford, Don Miguel Ruiz, Deepak Chopra, John Demartini, and John Gray. Lilou says, “My intention to now take it to new level.”

What I find most impressive about Lilou is not all of the big names she’s managed to attract into her work. What I admire most is that in pursuit of her goals, Lilou has not simply waited around for opportunity. Fueled by bottomless passion, this unstoppable woman has created and seized it at every turn: by building a huge online audience devoted to living the best life possible, hosting her own daytime cable talk show in Chicago, and turning job loss into not only a positive, but a platform for her self-published book: I Lost My Job and I Liked It. Lilou doesn’t just talk about living fully, being in touch with your spirit, and taking action to achieve one’s dreams—that’s how she lives her life each day and it’s why she has such universal appeal. Lilou’s authenticity and determination explain why people of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities continue to be drawn to her.

Naturally, Oprah has been Lilou’s biggest inspiration and hero. In 2006, after one of her electrifying experiences as a member of Oprah’s studio audience, Lilou was compelled to write down her illuminated vision.
